How Much Is NOT Having a Professional Website Costing You?

“I don’t have the budget for a website”

I hear this at least once a week.

And I get it. €2,000-3,000 is a lot of money, especially for a small business.

But let me tell you from experience: the right question isn’t “how much does it cost to build one”. It’s “how much is NOT having one costing me”.

Because the costs are there. They’re just hidden. And often much higher.

The costs you don’t see (but pay anyway)

1. Lost customers going to your competitors

A potential customer searches Google for “dentist Thessaloniki”. They find 5 practices. Three have professional websites. Two have nothing or sites stuck in 2010.

Guess who they call?

It’s not about being the best. It’s about looking trustworthy.

A professional website says: “We’re serious, we care about details, you can trust us.”

An outdated site (or no site) says: “Maybe we’re still in business?”

2. Time wasted answering the same questions

Every day you answer phone calls:

  • “How much does it cost?”
  • “What services do you offer?”
  • “Where are you located?”
  • “Are you open on Saturday?”

A professional website answers all of this 24/7, without you picking up the phone.

A client of mine (physiotherapist) told me: “I used to spend 2 hours a day on the phone for basic info. Now 30 minutes. The website answers for me.”

Two hours a day. Every day. For a year. Do the math: 730 hours saved.

How much is your time worth?

3. Credibility (or rather, the lack of it)

A client told me this story.

He was looking for an accountant. Found one with great Google reviews but no website. Found another with a professional site, blog, clear FAQs.

He chose the second one. Even though the first one was cheaper.

Why? “He seemed more serious.”

Perception is reality in business.

4. Lost opportunities you don’t even know you’ve lost

This is the worst cost.

How many people have searched for your service, didn’t find you online, and called someone else?

You’ll never know. But it happens. Every single day.

Let’s do some quick math

Say a professional website costs €2,500.

If it brings you just 2 extra clients per year (because they found you on Google, because you seem more credible, because it answers questions 24/7), with an average ticket of €300…

That’s €600 per year.

In 4 years the site has paid for itself.

And in the following 6 years? It’s all profit.

But wait: is 2 extra clients per year really realistic?

Let me be honest: it’s pessimistic. With a well-made site, you should see many more.

It’s not about budget

It’s about seeing the investment for what it is.

You’re not spending €2,500 for “a website”. You’re investing in:

  • Credibility online
  • Visibility on Google
  • Time saved

And most importantly, you’re stopping the loss of customers you don’t even know you’re losing.

Want to understand what it’s really costing you?

I offer a free 20-minute analysis.

We’ll look together at:

  • What your potential customers are searching on Google
  • Where they find you (or don’t find you)
  • How much traffic is going to your competitors
  • What you could recover with a professional website

Zero commitment. Just numbers and concrete facts.

Because it’s easy to say “I don’t have the budget”. It’s harder to calculate how much NOT having one is costing you.
